
About "Upendo"
Upendo means “love” in Swahili. Love is simple to say, sacred to live. It is the bridge that binds people across origins and circumstances. Upendo turns love into action through youth-led projects that expand education access, basic health, and girls’ empowerment in Tanzania.

Impact highlights:

Tech for Hope: delivered $2,400 in devices, food, and sanitary kits to 250+ orphaned or disabled children and women in Dar es Salaam.

Colors of Africa: two-day fundraiser with 400+ attendees, 50-person Afrobeats/Kizomba workshops, and a 300-letter advocacy campaign for Tanzanian girls.

Story programs: Stories from Osterbay (10 bilingual shorts; 8.5k+ views/episode), 1 Painting, 100 Stories (50 artworks; 10k+ views), and a 1.5-hour webinar for 300+ students, raising $1,200 for education and gender equity.
